Motorcycle Pre - Trip Checklist
- Perform pre-ride inspection
- Load is properly distributed
- Rain Gear is ready
- First Aid Kit is stocked
- Motorcycle tools are complete
- Spare fuses & light bulbs available
- Windshield and helmet shield cleaned
- Weather check for the day and forecast has been done
- Proper riding attire has been chosen
- Maps for the trip are available and checked
- GWRRA Gold Book Directory is packed
- Cellular phone is available
- Flashlight and some batteries is packed
- Funds (cash traveller's cheques and cards)
- Paper, pen and pencil
- Proper eye glasses and sunglasses check
- Food and drinks for both stops and overnight
- Reading material and writing material
- Full Trailer inspection each time
- Animal Whistle to scare the big ones away
Personal Items vary with each individual but here is a starter list:
- Personal will is updated and at home
- Paid & pre paid bills are looked after
- Pet care arrangements have been made
- Non- essential home electrical items are turned off
- Motorcycle insurance is current
- Life and medical insurance is current
- Medical Prescription quantities are in sufficient quantity
- Family friends or associate have been informed of the itinerary
