Chapter ON-N of North Bay is with the International Gold Wing Road Riders
Association (GWRRA). As a diverse group of men and women we share an enthusiasm
for motorcycling. All bikes are open for membership, there are no regular
monthly dues and you become part of an International family.
Our "Blue Sky Wings" name is associated to our North Bay Region.
At a latitude: 46.32 N, longitude 79.46 W and 645 ft above sea level you drive
by an ancient fault line known locally as the escarpment. This canadian shield
fault extends south into the Saint Lawrence waterway. Early voyagers, legendary
explorers and missionaries used this fault as a water highway. It is now
a popular fishing and canoe route.
North Bay is known throughout the world as the "Gateway to
the North" the "Blue Sky Region" of Ontario. Clean water, fresh air, maples, popular, birch, spruce and pine still dominate
the same land they traveled and still make us unique. Our road riders now travel
the paved highways and we remain as proud Northerners. North Bay was incorporated
as a city in August 1925 and is situated between Lake Nipissing and Trout lake.
